The profession of a maritime pilot is inherently associated with high risk, as it requires transferring from a small vessel to a massive commercial ship in open seas. The new Artemis model is specifically designed to make this critical process much more stable and safe, while simultaneously eliminating its environmental footprint.
Underwater Innovations for Maximum Safety
At the core of the EF-12 Pilot is the patented Artemis eFoiler electric propulsion system. It integrates advanced carbon fiber hydrofoils with an electronically controlled steering system. Thanks to this, the boat 'takes off' above the water, which brings several key advantages:
Zero wake: When moving on hydrofoils, the boat creates almost no wake, which protects the infrastructure in port terminals.
Stable deck: The system constantly adjusts the ride height, roll, and pitch, turning the deck into a stationary platform. This is crucial for pilots, as it ensures safety even at high speeds and in difficult weather conditions.
Impressive Power and Efficiency
Despite its eco-friendly nature, the EF-12 Pilot does not compromise on dynamics. The vessel reaches a top speed of 32 knots, making it faster than most conventional pilot boats of similar size.
The vessel's autonomy is also optimized for the needs of port operations—on a single charge, it can cover between 45 and 55 nautical miles while flying on its hydrofoils. And when the battery needs energy, the ultra-fast charging station restores it in less than an hour, guaranteeing an almost uninterrupted workflow.
